Secret Environments
Using Environmental Designs in Public Facilities

This vivarium was one of several created for the learning center at the San Bernardino County Museum. It simulated an eastern U.S. woodland vernal pool habitat and housed two tiger salamanders.
In some cases, the benefits of creating appropriate, naturalistic environmental enclosures are obvious, such as in zoos, aquaria, botanic gardens, museums, etc. We can work with administrators, biologists, botanists, curators, builders and contractors to create beautiful environments to your exact specifications, using specific substrate mixes, rock, appropriate lighting, and live plant species. We can create environments that precisely simulate the desired habitats, even specific sites. While others might be able to get the environmental parameters correct, few can make them look as beautiful as we can. Unlike some other contractors, we are especially affordable for smaller, local zoos, gardens, museums, nature centers, etc.

We designed and installed this educational vivarium in a laboratory classroom at California State Polytechnic College in Pomona, California. It simulates the environment of the montane regions of Arizona known as sky islands. The college maintains a collection of reptiles from this environment.
We can work out special deals for local schools, libraries, educational centers, etc. to install environments for animals and plants used for educational purposes.
We will also go out of our way to make our environments affordable for non-profit agencies and governmental facilities that wish to create beautiful, healthy environments for their clients, employees and the public. Such facilities need not be cold, sterile and harshly utilitarian.
